Most family believe that because they are short, their children must be short. Genetically, one can say it is possible, but we have seen a situation where some children from shorter parents grow more than the ones whose parents are taller.

As a parent, one thing your children will not tell you is that they envy another child because he/she is taller in their class. Children run to taller child in their class for protection, especially when the class has many bullying kids.
Now, what will you, as a parent, do to ensure your children grow taller?
Shortly after puberty, around the ages of 16 to 18, the band of cartilage around the long bones of the hands and legs stops growing. This is why it is very important to subject your children to exercise at an early age to help these bones grow.

Stretching
Stretching is a good way to increase the length of the child bone. Allow your child to lean with his/her back in the wall and raise hands in the air to stretch as fer as possible. Then allow him/her to sit in the same position on the toes and stretch the leg muscles. The process should be repeated at least 10 time a day. Another good way of stretching the legs and back is by sitting on the floor, with you legs wide apart, then bend forward at the waist and stretch to touch the right toe.

Hanging
Kids are always playful, especially when they are in the house. They like hanging to every object they see around them. Hanging exercise can help strengthen the spine and elongates the Vertebrates. So install a number of pulling object in your home and encourage your child to do plenty of pull-ups. The bar should be at least 2 to 3 feet the height of your child for safety purposes resulting from accident.
Teach the child to hang at least 5 -10 minutes everyday and make them repeat that everyday for best results.
Yoga
Some Yoga asanas, especially the surya Namaskar and the Adho Mukha Syanasana stretches the whole body easily. Your child should do basic breath exercises before beginning Yoga exercise everyday.
Let the child lie down in their back on the ground, lift hips and stretch legs backwards. You should make sure that the legs are actually straight. In that position, continue breathing deep for as long as you can. Other Yoga style your child should practice is posing Chakrasana. Search Google for other interesting style of Yoga.
Workouts of High Intensity
Sporting is good for children body and mental development, but there are other sports children of 16-18 are not adviced to partake in. Weight lifting is a very strong and hard sports which children under the ages of 16 should not be allowed to engage into. Because at 16, their bone are still growing. If they are subjected to a hard sports like weight lift, it will influence the bones in a different ways, making it to grow bigger instead of taller.
However, sports like Basketball, Tennis and badminton are all great way to promote growth hormones in the body, and help your child to grow taller. Running, Swimming and cycling are also great options.
Other factors are a good diet and allowing the child to have enough slipping time.
A child should at least slip eight hours everyday, because good slip promote and influence hormone growth,
Also, having subjected the child to rigorous exercises, it is advisable you give the child a balance diet. Food rich in amino acid promote growth. Make sure your child eat food that contains more of proteins, vitamins and calcium, that will make his/her body work with the exercise, if not the child might look malnourished.
Some people give their children some supplements like PediaSure, to enhance their growth development.
